About the Podcast

Monster Donut is a close reading of the Riordanverse including interviews with the cast and creatives behind the Disney+ series, hosted by Phoebe, a dramaturg and story consultant in the TV/theater industry, and Emily, a writer & classicist with a degree in Greek & Latin. Every two weeks, Phoebe & Emily (along with some occasional special guests) analyze every book, short story, and episode of the Disney+ adaptation. While they chat, Phoebe sketches whatever characters/scenes are speaking to her. Those sketches are posted on our Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok (@PJOPod on all accounts). New episodes every other Tuesday!

PHOEBE (she/her)

Co-Host & Editor

Phoebe (she/her) is a writer, dramaturg, and story consultant specializing in stories of the strange, magical, & otherworldly. She has spent the last eight years bringing emerging & established writers to New York stages and screen as a creative collaborator, story editor, researcher, keeper of the story bible, & partner-in-crime. Other passions include drawing, crafting overly complicated playlists, and (of course) talking about Percy Jackson and the Olympians. She began reading the series in 2006, and has been making that everyone else's problem ever since.
